Mount Athabasca Ascents - 1.5 Days

This is one of the most popular peaks we guide in the Rocky Mountains, and can often be a busy objective through the weekends of the summer season. For this peak, we only allow a maximum of 6 Guests to minimize congestion and maintain safety margins. Other operations can often send upwards of 20+ people to the summit on a single day. For this ascent especially, we feel this often compromises saftey and leads to a lesser quality of guest experience. We'll work with you to pick timings that facilitate quieter times on the peak that give you the best chance of a safe and enjoyable experience on the ascent.

Guide to Guest Ratios depend on conditions on the peak. Our maximums will vary from 1:2 and 1:6 depending on time of year and conditions, as well as the route chosen for the ascent. The peak offers routes to its summit that will hold the interest of more experienced climbers, and also offers lines of ascent for those who are stepping into crampons for the very first time.

Is This Trip For You?

Climbing Mount Athabasca is a big day in the mountains. The peak offers routes for those wearing crampons for their first time,

Guide to Guest Ratios

1:6 - On either of the 2 Normal Routes, The Ramp Route or AA Col, we can accomodate 6 Guests per Guide.

1:2 - 1 Guide per 2 Guests are the maximum allowable ratios for the North Face Routes due to the more technical nature of the terrain on this aspect of the mountain.
