We've been down doing a bunch more guiding on the routes in Field this week, thought we'd throw up a few shots taken on the drive home today of some of the usual suspects. For those that were following our last posts both here and on the rest of the web, the 1st pitch of Guinness Gully has almost doubled in size since our first ascent of the season a week ago. Hope the fotos do the trick, and appologies for the low res. Zooming on an iPhone...
Been a busy week with groups on Mount Fay & Little, climbing out of the Neil Colgan Hut, a Sport Climbing 101 Course, a group of 6 successful summiteers’ on Mount Temple, a day of cragging and here I sit, beer in hand, after guiding an ascent of the North East Ridge of Ha Ling with 4 of my favorite folks from Saskatoon. Tired is a reasonable descriptor for how I feel right now, given I've been getting over a cold this week. Nice to be feeling like I'm finally on the mend.
I've spent about the last 2 weeks now playing and guiding in the Bugaboos. Despite being the busiest summer we've had at Cloud Nine, and being one of the busiest weeks in general during the year, my wife Lara and I took the last week of July off for a little vacation. The following week I did a quick return to Canmore for a couple days to dry out and re-supply, and then met up with our guests for the week, Ben and Dom. For the second week we did our best to dodge the weather and get as much climbing done in the typically unstable weather that is the Bugs.
