LIFT ACCESSED TOURING & The AST CONNECT+ / Guided Backcountry Touring for $125/person

Hey All!

For the month of February Cloud Nine will be piloting a few new Guided Ski Touring & Splitboarding Programs, with the intent of adding these to our 21/22 Calendar next season. These 2 new programs are essentially Guided Backcountry Touring Days with our Mountain Guides at some of the most accessible pricing options of any program we offer.

With our new website launching in the coming weeks, this short blog post gives us the chance to get these programs up for the early February crowd and guage interest in the programs this season. Hope you can make it, and join us for a day or two.

The first program added is our Lift Accessed Touring Days. These touring days are based in the terrain in and around the Lake Louise Ski Resort - explore the backcountry venues immediately surrounding the resort, with the benefit of a bump in the Gondola first thing in the morning to get us up high and into the alpine sooner. Expect a fun day in the mountains, the chance to responsibly socialize, meet new people and ski and ride till' the cows come home.

Single seats available for $125/person/day for those already holding a Lake Louise Season's Pass, or $205/person/day including lift ticket. Feel free to book as an individual, however 4 bookings are requried for the day to run, and ski with a max group size of 8, plus one of our IFMGA Mountain Guides.

The second program added is our new AST CONNECT+. This program is essentially a day of Guiding Ski Touring, that will help those who have just taken their AST 1, apply that knowledge on a full day Ski Tour on a classic Rockies objective. The program goals are two-fold, one is to get the chance to get out for a high mountain tour with one of our Mountain Guides and chase as much good skiing and riding as we can, and the second is an educational focus that will help to bridge the gap between the AST 1 and AST 2 Courses, assisting those who want to learn to put the new skill sets from the AST 1 Course in context, and apply them over the course of a full day tour in the Backcountry. Think of this as a Guided Touring Day, with your Guide sharing and talking consistently about their process, as you travel.
Avalanche Canada suggests that those at the Entry Level should generally acquire on average, approx. 40 days of Backcountry Experience  prior to teeing up their AST 2. This program has been designed to help you close that gap and get you into your AST 2 sooner, set up to take the most out of your next course. The process you'll be working through with your Guide includes everything from pre-trip planning via Zoom Meeting (45min session pre trip), gear and equipment selection, emergency response considerations, travel techniques in the field, application of the Public Avalanche Bulletin - Avaluator - ATES Rating systems in context, on tour. And on top of that, go and explore some of our Guides favorite venues!

$125/seat - book individually, but 4 bookings will be required to run the day. Group max of 8 skiers/riders.
